Involvement groups Southampton

Members Network
Members are invited to share their ideas and experiences and get involved in helping to shape local health and care services, and get involved in helping to:
  • Ensure the services we buy are based on the needs of local people
  • Plan and provide the most appropriate services
  • Monitor, review and evaluate the services on offer, and take any necessary action if things need improving

Equality and Human Rights Reference Group
This group was set up as a critical friend of the Governing Body of the previous Southampton City CCG to ensure the organisation provides equality and fairness in terms of access to and use of services, and that the impact and outcome are positive for all.

The group provides advice, support, assurance and feedback to the CCG to ensure the organisation meets its equality commitments. Individual experiences of healthcare services are discussed in the group and issues are reported for appropriate action.

People’s Panel
Becoming part of the People’s Panel is an easy way to get involved in giving your opinions to inform decisions about local services and issues. It will enable you to influence how services are delivered, highlight issues you feel need to be reviewed, and help you shape public services for your community.
Find out more about the panel here. (Please can all the info from this page be copied over to a separate page on the new site)

Patients Forum
The forum meets bi-monthly and is a consultative group attended by commissioners to discuss various programmes of work and seek feedback. The forum is chaired by the Chair of Healthwatch Southampton.

Consult and Challenge
Consult and Challenge is a group run by service users and carers, who are experts by experience, and possess a wealth of knowledge on their own requirements and capabilities.

The group was originally set up to help disabled people to have a greater involvement in the design, creation and improvement of the local services that affect them.  Its members include people with physical, mental and learning disabilities, carers, and representatives from the previous Southampton City CCG and providers. It regularly invites commissioning teams and people from external organisations to present so the group can provide feedback.

Communications and Engagement Group
The Group comprises a range of local patients and representatives from Healthwatch Southampton, the voluntary sector, a practice manager, Southampton City Council and our local hospitals.
