A Petersfield GP practice is celebrating after delivering on its promise to ensure patient safety was at the top of its agenda.
An independent health watchdog report has rated services provided by The Grange Surgery as “good overall.”
The new Care Quality Commission (CQC) report follows a comprehensive inspection last month to review the actions taken by the practice to improve the quality of care provided since its previous inspection in 2019 when it was rated as “inadequate overall.”
The Grange has now been removed from special measures after meeting all its legal requirements.
Dr Penny Mileham, GP Partner at Grange Surgery, said:
“We are obviously delighted by the new CQC report which recognises the high standard of care provided at our practice. This reflects a huge amount of work by everyone in our team, from the GPs and nurses to our admin staff. We have always been recognised for having caring, responsive and effective services but we were disappointed by the previous CQC rating of our the other two sections – having safe and well-led services. We have never compromised on patient safety but we have addressed the issues previously raised about infection control, inconsistent management and governance systems and this has been confirmed by the recent report."
